OMG, I can't believe that I just implemented the energy system as well as the first skill / tech! The shield skill creates an impenetrable floating barrier. Unlike in other shmups, this shield does not move with the player's ship, and you can't shoot through it. Toggling the skill again removes the shield, allowing you to reposition it at a later time. The shield drains energy while it is active, so watch out! I realize that I will have to do a lot of balancing regarding energy drain, damage and every ship's health.
